Merlyn Vaz Health and Social Care Centre Public Sculpture brief

Beauty and Utility Arts in partnership with NHS Leicester City and the Creative Arts in Mental Health Co-ordinator for Leicestershire Partnership Trust wish to appoint an artist to design and make a permanent sculpture for the main reception atrium at The Merlyn Vaz Health and Social Care Centre, 1 Spinney Hill Road, Leicester, LE5 3GH.

We require there to be community involvement with people using mental health services in liaison with Arts groups currently being run by Tim Sayers, Creative Arts in Mental Health Co-ordinator at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

The theme of the sculpture should be around good health and positive wellbeing.

The completed artwork should be low maintenance and as far as possible, resistant to vandalism and conform to Health and Safety standards. Relevant CRB and Insurances should be provided upon request along with two references at the interview stage.

A budget of £3600 is available. This should allow for artist fees, materials, workshop facilitation and time, manufacture, transportation and assistance with installation.

Please send expressions of interest (no more than 3 pages) to Katherine Brown at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) describing your ideas, how you will involve workshop participants and a budget breakdown.
