Peter Welton

After leaving school at 16 Peter was employed as a clerk in Grimsby General Hospital. Then he did National Service in the RAF where he was chosen to be trained as a killer. He then worked as a street singer, a railway porter and a school teacher and ended up as Professor of Fine Art at De Montfort University. He is now a full time painter with a string of clients including H.M. The Queen.

Sharon Steingold

I have lived in the Midlands for many years. I trained as a nurse, and then studied Fine Art at North Warwickshire College, Loughborough University and De Montfort University. I completed a PhD in 2007 at DMU where I now work as a senior lecturer. I have led workshops in schools and organised several public art projects in Leicestershire. I love to paint and to be involved in creative activity!

Bill Allsopp Photography

I have had a passion for photography all my life. I specialise in landscape and monochrome work but make pictures of many different subjects. My pictures have been published by magazines, used for advertising, on greetings/birthday cards and on the internet etc. You can buy prints or acquire a licence for advertising, editorial or other use. I am also available to produce commissioned work.

Terry Davies

I am a self publishing fine art landscape photographer specialising in the landscapes of the British Isles. My motivation is to capture the essence of the landscapes that surround us through a combination of good light, detail and composition.
I complete the entire workflow myself from the photography and processing to the framing and final presentation. I use only the highest quality materials throughout the process and my prints are of giclée quality. My work is often very large with framed images up to 1.5m in length.

Neil Coultas

I was born in Great Grimsby in 1961 and studied at Grimsby School of Art before gaining a degree at St Martin's School of Art in London in 1983. I now live in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
My work is heavily influenced by the dockland environment where I lived in my early years. The colour, shapes and texture of the trawlers, equipement and surroundings lend themselves to my work and are an endless source of inspiration.

Si Welford - Way Up There

Way Up There is the home of artist Simon Welford. Simon’s work has been gaining popularity over the past couple of years due to its use commercially by bands and in a successful UK film.

Simon’s work has sold as far a field as Japan and the USA and he held three successful art exhibitions in Sydney, Australia at the end of 2010. Simon’s next exhibition will be in Leicester in November 2011.

Bev Chandler

I am a fine artist. My current work focuses upon the use of colour in contemporary painting practice. The perception of movement that evolves through colour, shape and pattern form the basis of my lines of enquiry.
My current paintings derive from doodles. The fluid lines and shapes produced through this subconscious method, entice the viewer to travel round the paintings in "the minds eye”. This notion of a feeling of movement on a static two dimensional surface encourages existensial sensations including: pace, quiet, noise, space and enclosure.

John Brightmore

Glen Bank Photography is based at The Lawns Business Centre, in Hinckley where we work on a varied client list from furniture to fashion and flowers to food.
With every shoot bringing its own unique set of rules to achieve the desired result, one shot can last all day, or a whole catalogue could be shot too.
Working now totally on digital the only restrictions are how long your eyes can last in front of a computer screen. Having been taught to create special effects on film in camera, through multiple exposures and trickery pokery; the saying, “the camera never lies” has never been so far from the truth.
