Chromophilia

The exhibition challenges our interpretation of the physical world through the sensation of colour. A large fluorescent ‘space drawing’ suggests both sexual union and asexual division through the language of anatomical models, and the colour-coded diagrams that we rely on to navigate our urban environments. Intense monochromes are used to distinguish between ‘connections’ and the structural elements that sustain its bi-morphic relationship. A group of four oil paintings celebrate the vibrancy of polychromatic relationships and the modulation of tone through colour, each painting an orchestrated landscape of marks that recede and advance within pictorial space. Finally, an installation of polymorphous colour and shape explores the play between positive and negative space.
