I attended an event last week spanning two days - 7th & 8th April 2010, 'Interchat' at the Drum in Birmingham 'a dialogue on arts and communities' with local and international perspectives.
Cultural Offer Event - Pathways for Young People into the Creative Industries.
Also 'Art & Craft Workshop' in celebration of St George Celebration in Hinckley Town Centre.



St George's celebration weekend here in Hinckley, kids and families had a great time sampling the free art workshop, it was well attended and many request for the same thing next year.

This week I facilitated a mural workshop with some youngsters at youth club in Coventry.
Also, here are some images of the work of a young local artist Zac Cummings, he is a student at Hastings High School in Burbage.


We are involved in a project called 'Find your Talent' it gives children and young people the chance to try out different cultural and creative actives.
Zac successfully applied for a small grant which has enabled him to have his first solo exhibition. This will take place at The Library Gallery Hinckley, Leicestershire date to be confirmed.

At present I am mentoring a young student from our local Hastings High School.
His mum & I successfully applied for a small bid from the 'Find Your Talent' team. The young man is called Zac Cummings and he will be Exhibiting at the Hinckley Library in the summer, provisional date 24th May 20010
The 'Find Your Talent' scheme is due to come to Hinckley. This is a national program which plans to give children and young people the chance to try out different cultural and creative activities.
I've also been holding felt making sessions at a couple of youth clubs. Here are a couple of photographs.
