I could paint a very pretty picture of goals achieved and projects won, but the reality of it is that it has been a tough year, loosing my job last January. Just about able to sell our home before the worst of it hits, however there are some great moments among the gloom.
One of them is being part of Creative Hinckley, look at building a positive future for creative’s in the area, they have been a great encouragement to me. The one thing that we are so apt to do is to battle on by ourselves. An encouraging word and 5 mins chat with fellow artist in one of our gatherings have been a great help to me. With a few tips and leads along the way. Having friends that will help hang paintings when you have to go to work and just enjoying each other’s company. Moments that just give you that spark to go on.
Glad I got that off my chest………….
Right, amongst the psychoanalytical blurb… what have I been up to over the past 12 months. Apart from working on building projects and looking for work, I managed to squeeze in some time to do some art. The highlight of the year was been commissioned to do a sculpture for Leicestershire Library Service to mark the opening of Newbold Verdon Library. Note the small tiles are pictures created within community workshops.

What else has been happening, apart from moving house 2 times, was creating a logo for a small coffee shop which is a community run facility at Hope Community Centre on the Hollycroft.

Another project that I have been involved in is assisting in creating a brand identity for a Money Advice Centre starting up in Hinckley.

Creating my first Album Cover for a local artist namely my son Ben who has gone off to East 15 Theatre College this year….told you it was a tough year.

Gosh ….. I amongst those work stuff I managed to create some paintings as well with 4 of them now showing at the Concordia Theatre in Hinckley.
