The MA show Private View is on 3rd of September from 5.30pm till 8.00pm in the Fine Art Faculty at De Montfort University, Leicester. There are two public days, Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th September From 10.00am till 5.00pm.

The work I have shown here  are works in progress. They are part of my research for my M.Phill and they investigate the  practical use of colour in contemporary abstract painting based on theoretical lines of inquiry in the work of such artists as Josef Albers, Bridget Riley and Jane Bustin.

My Studio at The Atkins!

Posted Tuesday 10 August, 2010

I have just moved into my studio at the Atkins. It's great to have all my work around me, I feel so inspired.

Due to one of the tenants upgrading to one of the plush offices on the first floor, we now have a vacant studio.

If anyone would like to join us, it's a large studio which would be suitable for two or three artists to share or a more established business for single occupancy.

This is such a vibrant place to work and I can't wait to get in every day. I would recommend the studio spaces to any practicing artist/maker or creative business. Viewing is a must.

The Exhibition Group meet on Tuesday 3rd November. We have lots to discuss. I am really excited about the Craft Stall in The Britannia Centre on the 12th December. We could do with some more crafty things to sell though! Anyone out there interested contact me on 07887515925. Cost; only 10% commission to the “Arts Net” I’ll keep you updated.

Friday is change-over day at the Concordia Café Bar. The theatre complex looks fantastic after the refurbishments. This is a chance for me to show off for a change! My paintings are up next with Winsome Ruddock’s felt pictures.
